Ok, I have two kids who love their Wii and Xbox 360 - I know spoiled rotten and all that. Every parent knows just how expensive the hardware is, but lets be honest, the cost of the machine pales into insignificance compared to the cost of the games . Kids and computer discs don't exactly go together. One of the worst feelings is to have one or more of your favourite Wii games rendered unplayable thanks to scratches or a broken disc. Even worse being forced to spend buy another brand new copy that might cost $40 to $50, or even more.

But what if I told you that you could avoid these problems simply, quickly, without any in-depth technical knowledge and all for a lot less than the cost of a new game disc. Interested; I certainly was. The solution is a software utility called CopyThatGame. Thanks to this great utility, you can now copy Xbox 360 games instead of spending time, effort and most importantly, money, on new copies of games they already own. CopyThatGame is a state of the art and comprehensive system that allows players to perform a bit-wise copy of any disc - including movies and of course video games. The best thing about CopyThatGame though, is that its very simple to use. It even comes with a bunch of helpful tutorials in both video and text form that help guide you through the process of copying your PS3 games, so you can be backing your precious discs up within a few minutes.

CopyThatGamealso has very modest hardware requirements. All that it requires is an entry level PC and a DVD re-writer - most homes already have this kit. To back up your software you also need blank CDs or DVDs - any kind of blank disc will do as long as it matches the source disc. Basically, theres no point in trying to fit a DVD original onto a CD disc - the data simply wont fit. Because CopyThatGame performs a identical copy of the original disc then you retain the same level of audio and video quality - no loss of detail or definition with this software. CopyThatGame, even enables you to copy all of the extras and bonus material on your original DVD's.

As I said, CopyThatGame is as simple to use as it can be. Just install it once on your PC and click a few buttons - within a couple of minutes you will be generating a backup of your precious games on cheap DVD or CD media. All you have to do now is wait for the disc to burn - that will depend on your choice of media and burner, and the software does the rest. As the site says .. Install.. load..Copy.. it really is that simple.

So, instead of panicking when my children pick up one of my precious PS3 discs I can relax safe in the knowledge that its just a cheap backup they are handling. Broken disks don't worry me now as the originals are now kept firmly out of their way, so I can just let them enjoy playing away to their hearts desire.
